The real reasons behind Madhuri's return

A choreographer who recently visited Madhuri Dixit's home was shocked to see her husband, Dr Sriram Nene, going through a pile of scripts! As he tells us, "A qualified doctor sitting and reading scripts is a tad strange, isn't it? Maybe he now decides what work she should do. But I wonder whose decision it was to sign her up for an advertisement where she plays the part of a maid?" The latest news is that Nene has applied for jobs at various super-specialty hospitals and is awaiting a favourable reply. So is script-reading just a temporary occupation? Or is he acquainting himself with Bollywood, considering he was not aware of his wife's fame when they were married and hadn't seen any of her movies either!

Longing For Home
A few months ago, when Madhuri announced that she was moving back with bag and baggage to India, fans and well-wishers were ecstatic. Their diva, who stole millions of hearts with her charming smile and electrifying dances, was back on the big screen! When asked about her move, Mads said that the main reason for shifting base was to acquaint her sons Arin and Ryan with their roots and their mother tongue, Marathi. However, some suspect there's more to it than meets the eye! "It was a comfortable life, but definitely not what Madhuri desired," says a source. "While people in India throng to get a glimpse of her, in the US, she was a mere homemaker. Can you imagine being away from all the fame and the spotlight after years of thriving under it?"

People who know her well say that initially Madhuri was happy taking care of her children and living in anonymity. As she once said, "In the US, I do all the things that ordinary women do; like even visiting malls and department stores." However, once Madhuri returned to judge the TV dance show Jhalak Dikhla Jaa, her perspective changed. "She realised that she wanted to be here where people recognise and love her. She also liked the fact that she was earning again," says the source.
